Afghanistan will take on Asia Cup 2023 co-hosts Sri Lanka in the final Group game of the competition. The much-awaited fixture will be played out at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on September 5.

Afghanistan lost to Bangladesh in their Asia Cup 2023 opener at the same venue by 89 runs a couple of days ago. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, played their opening fixture in Kandy where they handed a five-wicket larruping to Bangladesh.

The upcoming contest marks a must-win one for Afghanistan, if they are to entertain any chances of qualifying for the Super Four round.
