Jaydev Unadkat, a prominent figure in Indian domestic cricket, has recently marked his return to the national squad and is currently plying his trade in England for Sussex during the ongoing County season. His performance with the new red ball has been nothing short of outstanding.

Unadkat's excellence was on full display in the ongoing County Championship - Division 2 match between Leicestershire and Sussex, delivering a deceptive straight ball that changed its trajectory after bouncing and dismantled Colin Ackermann's off stump.

Unadkat wasn't finished yet, as he made a quick return after two overs and successfully trapped Umar Amin, who could only manage two runs from eight deliveries. Earlier, batting first Sussex were bowled out for 262 runs in 72.1 overs in the first innings.

Notably, Jaydev Unadkat is the second Indian player to have signed a deal with Sussex this year after Cheteshwar Pujara who has represented the County across formats. Unadkat has inked a deal for three-matches, and it was his second game with one game remaining.

The Saurashtra pacer was part of India's squad for the Test series against West Indies, where he remained wicketless. However, he had a more fruitful outing in the solitary ODI, where he notched up a wicket.

Unadkat led Saurashtra to their maiden Ranji Trophy title back in 2020, where he picked up 67 wickets, which is the most by a fast bowler in a single season. He then led them to a second title this year, where he was adjudged the Player-of-the-Match award in the final against Bengal.
