Arshdeep Singh Dismisses Ben Duckett To Become India's Highest Wicket-taker In T20Is

In a remarkable achievement, India's ace speedster Arshdeep Singh surpassed Yuzvendra Chahal, becoming the most successful T20I bowler for the country. The left-arm seamer achieved the landmark during the ongoing first T20 International between India and England in Kolkata. 

Notably, Arshdeep needed only two wickets to attain the landmark. After dismissing Phil Salt in the first over, the left-arm pacer got rid of Ben Duckett to etch his name in history. Chahal had 96 wickets to his name, and with Duckett's wicket, Arshdeep bagged his 97th scalp in T20 Internationals.

As shown in the above table, Arshdeep is at the top of the pile with 97 scalps, with Chahal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar following him at second and third positions, respectively. Bumrah and Hardik Pandya occupy the fourth and fifth spots with 89 wickets.

Regarding the match, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and elected to field first. Arshdeep Singh provided India with a magnificent start, getting prized wickets of Salt and Duckett. Although English captain Jos Buttler played a counterattacking knock, Varun Chakravarthy wreaked havoc in the tourists' camp with quick wickets of Harry Brook and Liam Livingstone. As of writing, England were 66 for four, with Buttler and Bethell batting on 41* and 0*, respectively.
