The trouble for the Indian team is refusing to die down as the list of injured player is getting bigger and bigger. India are all set to host South Africa for a two-match Test series starting on November 14, but face a tough task as the management is sweating on players' fitness.
Notably, prior to the SA Tests, India A are locking horns against South Africa A. In the 2nd unofficial Test, the players struggled on green-tops and the tryst with injuries started with Rishabh Pant.
Rishabh, Jurel with injury scare in 2nd Test
Rishabh took plenty of blows to his body in the first innings, which forced him to retire hurt. It was a scary moment for the Indian team, but Pant eventually returned to bat.
On Day 4 of the 2nd Test, Dhruv Jurel too got hit on his finger, and in the latest events, India star seamer Mohammed Siraj has also hurt his finger and left the field in pain.
Siraj leaves the field because of precaution
The incident occurred on the 5th ball of the 58th over when Siraj took a blow to his finger while putting in an effort on the field. He was in extreme pain, and the physios quickly rushed to the field. Eventually, the doctors decided not to risk Siraj further as India have a crucial series coming up in less than a week, which is why they asked Siraj to walk off the field to assess him further and how series is the injury.
At the time of writing, 62 overs have been bowled in the second innings, and Siraj has not returned to the field.
