Struggle continues at home; Decoding Shubman Gill's T20I stats outside Ahmedabad

On Tuesday, December 9, Shubman Gill returned to the Indian team after a month-long injury setback. The star right-handed batter missed the action because of a neck injury, but made a forgetful return to the shortest format of the game as the 26-year-old scored just 4 (2), which featured a solitary four.

Notably, there is already a lot of criticism surrounding Gill's place in T20Is, as his inclusion resulted in Sanju Samson's exit without doing anything wrong. Now, with another failure at home, the fans are worried about India's chances for the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled in India in February 2026.

However, if we look at his stats, then Gill despite less games at home, has done better at home than away. He averages 32.71 and also boasts a strike-rate of 168.38, compared to 27.02 average away and 136.5 strike-rate.
