Sanju Samson has missed out on his second consecutive hundred in the Kerala Cricket League by just 11 runs in what turned out to be another fantastic knock from the wicketkeeper batter. The knock has come after a scintillating century against Aries Kollam Sailors, and Samson, with these back-to-back strong performances, has shown his readiness as an opener for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025.
In this knock of 89 from 46 balls against Thrissur Titans, Samson hit nine sixes and 4 fours. He scored his runs at a strike-rate of 193.48. Kochi Blue Tigers are batting first, and Samson made his intentions clear right from the first over, hitting a boundary off his third ball. He followed it up with another boundary couple of deliveries later, and then slammed some effortless trademark sixes to take Kochi Blue Tigers to a strong position.
Sanju Samson Continues To Impress With Dominant Power-Show
Sanju Samson looked set for his second consecutive century, but Ajinas K got the better of him in the 18th over. Samson was equally dominant against both pace and spin. He scored 52 off 30 balls against fast bowlers at a strike-rate of 173.33 while he blasted 31 runs at a rate of over 200 against the tweakers.
Such was the dominance of the RR batter that he scored 64 runs in just boundaries. Samson's knock helped Kochi Blue Tigers reach 188 runs, and it was almost a lone-warrior effort from the charismatic opener.
The second-highest score came off the bat of Mohammed Shanu, who scored just 24 runs. The innings included a hat-trick as well from Ajinas K. He got the wickets of Jerin PS and NM Ashik on consecutive deliveries after the wicket of Samson. It helped Thrissur Titans restrict Kochi Blue Tigers under 190.
