Rashid Khan and Mitchell Marsh (Source: @IPL/X.com)
Gujarat Titans' leg spinner Rashid Khan has seen tremendous success in the Indian Premier League (IPL) before. However, in the ongoing game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Ahmedabad, the Afghanistan spinner was smacked by opener Mitchell Marsh.
Rashid Khan Tonked For 25 Runs In An Over
After being asked to bat first, Lucknow Super Giants started off brilliantly, with the opening pair of Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh starting off exceedingly well, putting 91 runs on the board when they lost their first wicket inside the tenth over.
However, in the 12th over of the game, Rashid was brought into the attack by GT's skipper, Shubman Gill, but it didn't go to plan, as the well-set Mitchell Marsh had his eyes on the veteran leg spinner and tonked him for two maximums and three boundaries in the over, while taking a single on the last delivery to complete a 25-run over.
Rashid, who was bowling his first over of the game, didn't have a great time, as the very first ball was dispatched for six, while the next was a boundary, which was followed by another six and two consecutive fours, while Marsh found a single off the last delivery.
Before the start of this over, LSG were 107 for one, and by the end of the twelfth over, they had jumped to 132.
Overall, Rashid didn't have a great night, either, as after this over, he only got to bowl one over where he gave away 11 runs, accumulating a total of 36 runs in his tally after completing just two overs at an economy of 18.
