"I'm standing here and there is no standing water at this stage. It is an improvement from yesterday. The problem here is that the outfield is sand-based. There was plenty of rain in the last few days. But the groundsmen have been working hard to get the field ready for play. As I stand here, it's not firm. There are four massive hair dryers around the concerned area, drying the outfield. Since these hair dryers are out here, it looks good. Still, a lot of works need to be done for today's game to begin. There is also a little bit of breeze flowing across the ground."

The drizzle has stopped but the square remains under covers as the sky is gloomy. Let's hope there isn't any rain and we get a positive news from the inspection that is scheduled to take place at 8 PM IST (10:30 AM Local Time).

Further, the middle-order that failed against Pakistan proved their mettle against the USA, where SKY and Shivam Dube stitched a 72-run unbeaten stand for the fourth wicket and helped India register a seven-wicket win. While the bowlers are on song the management would bank on them for the coming games as well.

The Saad Zafar-led side have shown intent against big teams and even holds the record for scoring the most runs in an innings (137/7 vs Ireland) at Nassau County Stadium, a surface where the batters have struggled to score runs. 

Canada are coming fresh off a seven-wicket defeat against Pakistan, but India still need to be wary off the threat that Aaron Johnson possesses. The Canadian opener was the sole star with the bat against Pakistan for Canada as he scored 52 (44), which featured four fours and four sixes.
