Cricket fans are just counting the days as the prestigious Champions Trophy is coming back to the cricket world after 2017. As Pakistan is going to host an exciting tournament, Team India is all set to play their matches in Dubai.
On February 23, cricket’s fiercest rivalry takes center stage as India and Pakistan clash once again in a high-stakes showdown. Before stepping into the tournament, Azam Khan wished the team good luck while labeling the India-Pakistan match as ‘just a game’.
Azam Khan On Cricket's Biggest Rivalry
Despite being neighbors, India and Pakistan share cricket’s most thrilling rivalry, captivating fans in every ICC tournament. But the scenario is different on the cricket field as the players share a strong camaraderie. From extending good wishes to exchanging gifts, the India-Pakistan game is much more than a cricket match. Ahead of the marquee event, Azam Khan shared his thoughts on this iconic showdown.
“The rivalry is outside the field. If you look at the past few India-Pakistan matches, they have been played in a very friendly manner. There is no disrespect there. There is a respectful relationship between the players. If you are getting the respect from one side, then your job is to reciprocate that."
Lebells The Rivalry As “Just A Game”
The cricket fans got some extra boost before every India-Pakistan match. Debates spark worldwide over who is the better batter, Virat Kohli or Babar Azam, or which bowler will dominate, Jasprit Bumrah or Shaheen Afridi. But players have always defined the high-voltage encounter as just another game and Azam Khan is no exception. He also defined the clash just as any other game.
“I wish the Pakistan team the best of luck. India versus Pakistan is just a game in the end. There are so many expectations because it is a high-voltage game. The team that commits the least number of mistakes will walk away as the winner.”
The cricket world is buzzing with excitement for the Champions Trophy 2025, especially the India-Pakistan clash. After falling short in the last Champions Trophy final, Rohit Sharma and his team are eager for redemption on February 23.
