The Barabati Stadium is riding high on excitement as Team India is crossing swords against England in the second ODI match of the ongoing ODI series. With Virat Kohli making his return to the playing XI, the stakes are higher. However, the highly anticipated arrival of the King falls short of fans' expectations, leaving them disappointed.

Coming in at number 3, Kohli got off to a decent start but was dismissed cheaply by  Adil Rashid's delivery. Scoring just 5 runs, his early departure sparked a storm of fierce criticism on Twitter.

Kohli Departs Early Again

After missing out on the first ODI match due to a knee injury, the cricket world was eagerly waiting to see King Kohli back in the 50-over format. In the ongoing second ODI, the GOAT returned but his arrival went wrong. After Shubman Gill’s dismissal, he joined Rohit Sharma but departed scoring only 5 runs.

In the 20th over, Adil Rashid came to bowl and Virat Kohli was on strike. Rashid bowled a full delivery that drifted outside off, and Kohli tried to defend it. The ball turned away, and it looked like he edged it just slightly. Philip Salt quickly took the catch, and England called for a review. The Ultra Edge revealed a distinct spike as the ball went past the bat, validating Rashid’s effective approach against Kohli.

How Twitter Reacts On Kohli’s Dismissal

Kohli’s dismissal left fans heartbroken once again. Disappointed supporters flooded social media, expressing their frustration and disappointment with his early exit.

The Indian fans get a treat as the Barabarti Stadium witnessed ‘The Hitman Show’. While opening the innings, he smashed a long-awaited ton and that knock has become a huge boost for India ahead of the Champions Trophy. Having Axar Patel and Shreyas Iyer on the field, Team India is 68 runs away from the victory.
