Mumbai Indians (MI) square off against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the penultimate match of the league stage of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The encounter is scheduled to take place on a doubleheader Super Sunday, May 21 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai at 15.30 PM IST. Tim David remained not out on 32 off 19 but couldn't quite take his side over the line as the visitors got restricted at 172/5. Yash Thakur and Ravi Bishnoi picked up two scalps each for the home side. For his power-packed knock, Stoinis grabbed the Player of the Match award.

The Sunrisers endured yet another disappointing season as they have played 13 games with just 4 wins and 9 losses. With 8 points, they are placed at rock bottom at the tenth spot in the table. (All scenarios till Match No. 66)

Last Match: The Orange Army played their last game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Hyderabad where they were treat with a Virat Kohli special.

Captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and RCB opted to bowl first. Wicketkeeper batter Heinrich Klaasen stole the show as he hammered 104 off just 51 which included 8 fours and 6 maximums. England international Harry Brook scored a quickfire 27 off 19 as the home side reached a competitive total of 186/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Michael Bracewell picked up 2 wickets for 13 runs in his 2-over spell.

In reply, Kohli and Faf put on a show yet again as they stitched a terrific 172-run opening stand. The latter scored 71 off 47 while Kohli brought up his sixth centuty in the IPL. The classy right-handed batter slammed 100 off just 63 with the help of 12 fours and 4 sixes. Courtesy of the duo, RCB completed the chase in 19.2 overs with the loss of just 2 wickets. For his magnificent ton, Kohli was adjudged with the Player of the Match award.

Markram won the toss and elected to field first. Ishan and Rohit struck 38 and 28 runs respectively while youngster Tilak Varma scored 37 off 17. Aussie all-rounder Cameron Green slammed an unbeaten 64 off 40 as MI posted a total of 192/5 on the board. Marco Jansen picked up 2 wickets for 43 runs in his 4-over spell.

In reply, right-handed batter Mayank Agarwal racked up 48 off 41 while Klaasen played a cameo of 36 off 16. The rest of the SRH batting line-up failed to support those two as they got bundled out for 178 in 19.5 overs. Australian seamers Jason Behrendorff and Riley Meredith snared 2 scalps each while veteran spinner Piyush Chawla also bagged 2. For his valuable half-century and figures of 1/29 (4), Green grabbed the Player of the Match award.
