The journey of Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2023 has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride. A team under transition, MI began their campaign with a couple of gut-wrenching defeats, but made a remarkable comeback against all odds to stay alive in the competition.
While their batters, particularly Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Cameron Green, have enjoyed stellar success, the workhorse Piyush Chawla has led their bowling attack to perfection. Furthermore, the emergence of Nehal Wadhera and Akash Madhwal has been a massive positive for the five-time champions.
They have some glaring loopholes, especially the poor form of Rohit Sharma and lack of quality death bowlers. But despite having a relatively inexperienced squad, MI haven't given up on playoffs, which is commendable.

There have been some spectacular individual performances, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar's fifer and Heinrich Klaasen's century being the most prominent ones. However, they have failed to fire as a unit, and, as a result, languish at the bottom of the points table.
But despite their poor form, what makes SRH dangerous is they have nothing to lose at this stage and will play their heart out to finish the tournament on a high note. Therefore, MI shouldn't take Aiden Markram and co. lightly, as they are pretty much capable of forcing an upset.
