Durban's Super Giants (DSG) are set to take on the Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) in Match 11 of SA20 2025 on Friday, January 17, at Kingsmead, Durban. Both teams are desperate to get their campaigns back on track, making this game one to watch.

Durban's Super Giants

Durban’s Super Giants haven't had the smoothest ride so far. They've played three games and managed just one win. Their last outing against Joburg Super Kings was a tough pill to swallow. Chasing 170, they fell short by 28 runs.

Quinton de Kock was the only batter who really stood tall, smashing a classy 55. Heinrich Klaasen chipped in with 29, but the rest of the batting lineup collapsed like a deck of cards. The middle order just didn't show up, leaving them all out for 140.

The bowlers had a decent outing earlier, with Prenelan Subrayen, Chris Woakes, and Keshav Maharaj picking up two wickets each. However, they couldn't stop the runs flowing at crucial moments. DSG will need a team effort to bounce back and give their home fans something to cheer about.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape

Sunrisers Eastern Cape has had a nightmare start, losing all three of their games. Their last match against Pretoria Capitals was another disaster. They were bowled out for just 113, with Marco Jansen's fighting 51 being the only highlight.

The rest of the batting lineup, including big names like Aiden Markram, Tristan Stubbs, and Zak Crawley, just couldn't get going.

Their bowlers tried to put up a fight, with Richard Gleeson grabbing two wickets and Craig Overton and Ottneil Baartman taking one each. But defending such a low total was never going to be easy. SEC desperately needs their big guns to fire if they want to turn their season around.

Kingsmead - Pitch Report For Match 11 Of SA20 2025

The Kingsmead track is shaping up to be a surface for batters. The last two games here have seen runs flow freely, with the ball coming onto the bat nicely. Pacers might get some movement early on, but they will need to be smart with their variations to avoid getting punished.

Spinners could play a role in the middle overs, especially as the pitch slows down a bit. With both matches at this venue so far being won by teams batting first, expect the captain who wins the toss to opt for batting first and setting a big total.

Top 3 Captain and Vice-Captain Choices For DSG vs SEC

1. Quinton de Kock

Quinton de Kock has been DSG's standout performer so far. In just two innings, he's scored 70 runs, including a brilliant 55 in the last game. His ability to dominate the powerplay makes him a dangerous prospect for SEC's bowlers. If DSG are to bounce back, they will need de Kock to lead the charge once again.

2. Marco Jansen

Marco Jansen has been the lone warrior for SEC in what has been a forgettable campaign so far. He's contributed with both bat and ball, scoring 69 runs, including a gutsy 51 in the last match, and picking up three wickets in the tournament. Jansen's all-round skills make him a match-winner, and SEC will be banking on him to deliver.

3. Richard Gleeson

Richard Gleeson has been one of SEC's few bright spots with the ball. He's picked up four wickets in three games and has been economical too. Gleeson's knack for picking wickets in crucial moments makes him a key player in this contest, especially on a pitch that has something for the bowlers.
