The official broadcasters of India’s ongoing five-match Test series against England have compared Indian captain Rohit Sharma with Hrithik Roshan’s lead character from the 2024 Bollywood action film ‘Fighter’.

The broadcasters shared an AI-generated image of ‘Squadron Leader’ Sharma on their social media platforms, thus drawing an interesting parallel between the Indian cricket captain and the lead character from a Bollywood film.

IND vs ENG Broadcasters compare Rohit with Hrithik

Commemorating the opening day of India’s home series against England as well as the concurrent release of the Bollywood film ‘Fighter’, JioCinema released an interesting poster, where they depicted Indian captain Rohit Sharma as the lead character from the movie.

In an AI-generated image, Sharma can be seen wearing a uniform of a Squadron Leader, much similar to that of the Hrithik Roshan’s lead character from his Indian Air Force-based film.

On the same day, a Rohit Sharma-led Indian team folded up the visiting Englishmen for just 246 in 64.3 overs at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. His primary spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja once again headlined the visitor’s batting collapse, and the two all-round mavericks received much assistance through timely breakthroughs from Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah.

Later in the day, Rohit Sharma scored a near run-a-ball 24 and shared an 80-run opening stand with younger partner Yashasvi Jaiswal. After Sharma was holed out by Ben Stokes off Jack Leach, Jaiswal guided Team India to 119-1 from 23 overs by stumps on Day 1. As of now, the hosts find themselves another 127 runs away from England in the innings with nine wickets still in hand.
