[Watch] Stokes Celebrates With Anderson As Legendary Pacer Bottoms Up His Drink At Lord's Lobby

English pacer James Anderson has retired from Test cricket after a legendary career spanning 188 matches and 704 wickets. 

Widely regarded as one of the greatest swing bowlers of all time, Anderson has stepped away from the game.  He was honored by MCC giving him life time membership.

Ben Stokes, the captain of England, expressed his gratitude to Anderson for his iconic career. Following the match, Stokes and the English players formed a guard of honor to celebrate Anderson's contributions to the game.

England won the game for an innings and 114 runs after West Indies was all out for 136 runs in the second innings. Anderson had an opportunity to take the last wicket of West Indies but Anderson dropped the catch in his own ball when he bowled to Gudakesh Motie.

The crowd erupted in cheers for Anderson's entrance after the presentation. Amidst the loud applause, captain Ben Stokes joined in the celebration, warmly welcoming Anderson. 

As he stepped out from the dressing room with a drink in hand, Anderson addressed the crowd at Lord's and raised a toast with them.


Future of Anderson in England team

The story of James Anderson isn't over with England. He will take on a new role as a bowling mentor. He will remain with the team in this capacity, and Ben Stokes expressed gratitude for having Jimmy continue to guide the younger players in England's cricket team.
