Amidst Sri Lanka’s tight run-chase quest against Netherlands in their must-win World Cup 2023 match in Lucknow, it was an over-enthusiastic Indian fan who hogged the limelight with a scintillating dance number in the stands.

Moments prior to the start of the 25th over of the Sri Lankan innings, the said fan took off his shirt and danced to the tunes of the DJ’s beat at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium. As it turned out, even the International Cricket Council (ICC) took note of his dancing spectacle and shared a short video of the same on their social media accounts.

The 50,000-seater Ekana Stadium in Lucknow was left with a number of empty seats for Sri Lanka’s must-win World Cup 2023 match against Netherlands. 

Those in attendance, however, seemed to have enjoyed match proceedings to the fullest, with a certain fan even acknowledging his fun time by unfurling some hilarious dance moves in the stands.

Even the ICC were seemingly left mesmerized by his passionate dance number as they took to their Instagram account to share a short clip of the same. In the caption, the apex body jokingly wrote:

“Quite a bit of action in the stands 😉”

On the cricketing front, Sadeera Samarawickrama guided Sri Lanka towards safety following their middle-overs jitters against Netherlands.

Chasing 263 in a must-win game, the cricketer slapped a rebellious half-century and shared 77 runs with Charith Asalanka for the fourth wicket.
