Bollywood playback singer Arijit Singh attended India’s high-octane World Cup 2023 showdown against arch-rivals Pakistan at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Singh attended the venue at the behest of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for a pre-match musical performance.

After entertaining the capacity crowd in Ahmedabad, the singer basked himself in India’s dominant outing with the ball against the ‘Men in Green’. Starting out the celebrated occasion as an entertainer, Singh soon became one of the ardent cricketing enthusiasts at the stadium during match-time as he was spotted celebrating Babar Azam's wicket with utmost flair and passion.

Pakistan, after getting invited to bat first, steered themselves to a threatening 155-2 under the guidance of captain Babar Azam and fellow senior batter Mohammad Rizwan. Mere moments after the ‘Men in Green’ skipper reached his half-century, he was done-in by Indian speedster Mohammed Siraj against the run-of-play.

Arijit Singh, who was present at the stadium, celebrated Babar’s dismissal by recreating an iconic Sourav Ganguly moment from India’s triumphant 2002 NatWest series win.

Babar Azam’s dismissal triggered a colossal batting collapse within the Pakistani camp, as they lost their subsequent eight wickets for just 36 additional runs. Indian speedsters Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Hardik Pandya and spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav all worked in unison to dust out the visitors for 191 inside their 43 overs.
