In the latest development, Virat Kohli followed up his viral tweet with another post that quashed all talks surrounding his ODI retirement buzz. This morning, the Indian cricketing legend posted "The only time you truly fail, is when you decide to give up", making fans assume his ODI retirement is not coming anytime soon. However, later the post turned out to be a part of Virat Kohli's ad campaign for Wrogn, a brand where Kohli has invested.

Virat Kohli's latest tweet clarifies ODI retirement confusion

Legendary Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has arrived in Australia for the upcoming three-match ODI series against the host nation. Soon after arriving in the Oceanian country, Kohli took to his official handle on social media platform X, posting "The only time you truly fail, is when you decide to give up."

The post came amid the talks of Virat Kohli's retirement from the ODI format. Recently, the BCCI selection committee chief Ajit Agarkar stated that Kohli hasn't given any assurance to play the 2027 World Cup. After Agarkar's comment, the Indian fans began speculating Kohli's ODI retirement, something which the post contradicted.

However, the fans found their joy short-lived, as Kohli later followed it with another post, "Failure teaches you what victory never will" along with a promotional video of popular apparel brand Wrogn.

In the video, Kohli is seen highlighting how failure is a part and parcel of the life of a sportsperson. The talismanic cricketer, who himself has witnessed multiple highs and lows in his illustrious career, explained why sometimes people must credit failures for teaching valuable lessons and motivating them to bounce back against the odds.

Thus, Kohli's latest social media act proved to be unrelated to his ODI retirement, something the fans speculated after seeing the first tweet. Now, coming to Kohli's upcoming assignments, the batting great will don the Indian jersey after a long time during the ODI series against Australia. There's no clear update regarding his ODI retirement and we might see him play for a few more years if he doesn't hang up his boots.
