India's most cherished and celebrated cricketer icon, Virat Kohli, has reportedly unfollowed Punjabi singer Shubh on the social media platform Instagram.

Shubh, aka Shubhneet Singh, is a Canadian-based singer who gained immense popularity after Kohli posted about the artist's music and has often featured in reels made by the star batter.'

As reported by several news outlets, Kohli unfollowed Shubh after the singer posted a controversial map of India on his Instagram post, where the former has been linked with separatist group Khalistan.

The singer shared a distorted map of India, which did not include states such as J&K, North-East, and Punjab as part of the sovereign nation.

The 26-year-old singer is already facing public backlash following his action, which has already seen protests in Mumbai, where Shubh was to perform on September 23-25.

Shubh is famous for tracks like "Elevated," "OG," and "Cheaques," which found success after a video featuring Kohli grooving to 'Elevated' went viral.

Other cricketers like KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya have also apparently unfollowed the singer, much like former Team India captain Kohli.

The singer is currently on a three-month-long tour of India named 'Still Rollin India Tour', where concerts will be held across cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, New Delhi, and Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Kohli has been rested for India's first two ODIs against Australia in the upcoming three-match series and will only feature in the third and final encounter.
