Former India captain Virat Kohli's stellar comeback since 2022 has resulted in the batter registering as many as five international centuries in 2023.

Now, in another achievement off-the-field, Kohli has become Asia's most-searched personality in 2023, beating the likes of BTS's V and JungKook on the world's most used search engine platform Google.

Members of Korean Pop band BTS, V, and JungKook were top-searched until June, but in the latest Google Trends data, Kohli has edged past the duo to become the most Googled person in Asia in the first half of 2023.

The 34-year-old has also beaten Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, who was the "Most Searched Asian Worldwide 2022" as per last year's data.

Kohli's climb came after the star-batter struck his 47th One-Day International (ODI) century during a Super Four clash against Pakistan in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023, which India ended up winning.

During the same match, Kohli also became the fastest batter to 13,000 ODI runs, taking only 267 innings, as compared to Sachin Tendulkar's 321.

Meanwhile, Kohli has been included in India's squad for upcoming ODIs against Australia, but only for the third and final encounter at Rajkot.

Other key members apart from Kohli, like Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Kuldeep Yadav have been rested for the first-two matches, with KL Rahul donning the captain's hat.

The ODIs will be followed by five-match T20Is series.
