Just weeks before the T20 World Cup 2026, Bollywood actress Khushi Mukherjee has made a striking claim on Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav. She claimed the star batter used to message her frequently in the past despite being in a marriage with his wife.
The timing of the claim has added fuel to the buzz. Suryakumar was recently confirmed as India’s T20I captain for the upcoming World Cup, where expectations will be sky-high.
His form as a batter has been poor since the T20 World Cup 2024. Hence, he is already under public scrutiny.
Khushi Mukherjee makes explosive claim on Suryakumar Yadav
In an interview clip doing the rounds online, actress Khushi Mukherjee stated that she and Suryakumar Yadav are no longer in touch and that she has no interest in dating cricketers or being linked to them.
The actress also made it clear that she dislikes rumours and link-ups involving her name.
"I don't want to date any cricketer. There are so many cricketers after me. Suryakumar Yadav used to message me a lot. Now we don't talk a lot and I don't even want to get associated. I don't like any linkups with me," she told reporters.
The statement has triggered mixed reactions online. While some immediately began to speculate and place blame upon SKY, others called for restraint, citing that they were only hearing one side of the story.
Notably, Yadav married his long-time girlfriend Devisha in 2016. The couple met during their college days and have been together ever since.
Hence, Khushi’s claim has indirectly put a question mark on Suryakumar’s faithfulness to his wife.
Suryakumar struggling with form
Meanwhile, on the field, Suryakumar Yadav will be keen to rediscover his batting rhythm ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 after a difficult 2025 in international cricket.
Despite his extremely successful IPL campaign, the Indian skipper has struggled in the T20 format, managing just 218 runs in 19 innings without a fifty.
The upcoming New Zealand series, along with his appearances in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, offers him a timely chance to rebuild confidence and regain form before the global event.
