Shahrukh Khan controversial fight with the security guard after the Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders clash in IPL 2012 is still one of the ugliest incidents in the history of the league. 'King Khan' as Shahrukh is fondly known was banned from entering in Wankhede Stadium for five years after that incident and till date, there are various theories surfacing around the issue.
Now, the former KKR director, Joy Bhattacharjya has revealed some startling details about that famous incident.
Joy revealed on his official X handle that KKR owner Shahrukh Khan did not abuse the guard and he was just angry because his daughter Suhana Khan, who was just 11 years old at that time was 'catcalled'.
Joy Bhattacharjya was with KKR till 2014 and at the time of the incident he was in the KKR dugout and his statement now matches with SRK's statement after the fight. SRK's side of the story was that his kids were not allowed to enter in the ground and were manhandled in the name of security.
Coincidentally, that was the last win for KKR at Wankhede and since then the 'Men in Purple and Gold' have not been able to breach the Wankhede fortress. Talking about SRK's ban, it was lifted after three years, but the incident still fresh in the mind of many cricket fans, bring diverging views to the table.
