Richa Ghosh, a vital part of India Women's cricket team who contributed majorly in multiple match-winning games in the Women's World Cup, was felicitated by The Siliguri Municipal Corporation on Friday.
Ghosh was awarded because of her unprecedented contribution in the tournament with the bat as the West Bengal born was acknowledged by her home district Siliguri for her heroics.
Richa gets hero's welcome at Siliguri
Earlier, Richa Ghosh received congratulatory message from India President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday along with the India Women cricket team where she expressed her thoughts on the honorary meetup.
"We felt very good after meeting her, and she motivated us to win more trophies for the nation," Ghosh told the reporters.
On Friday, Richa was welcomed warmly with horde of crowd present to receive the India Women star at Siliguri. Garlands were presented to her as the RCB-W star arrived at the ceremony.
Richa was also felicitated by the former Chief Minister of Tripura and current Lok Sabha MP, Shri Biplab Deb, who extended warm greetings and congratulations to the cricketer at Bagdogra Airport.

In the ceremony, held at Friday evening, Richa was presented with a memento, a certificate, multiple gifts and also a suitcase to acknowledge her contributions for the World Cup win.

Richa Ghosh had a sublime tournament in Women's World Cup. She had notable scores of 94, 35 and 34 while playing at the middle to lower middle order and though her highest innings score was 94 here, her numbers came against a losing cause as South Africa Women chased down a mammoth target of 252 nullifying Richa's efforts.
Nevertheless, India Women laughed the last laugh as in the final on November 2, the Women in Blue beat Proteas Women by a massive margin of 52 runs to bag their maiden World Cup trophy.
