The Indian women’s team, including captain Harmanpreet Kaur and her deputy Smriti Mandhana as well as the entire support staff were invited to the residence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, November 5, i.e., just a couple of days after the ‘Women in Blue’ lifted the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

The prime minister congratulated the Indian women’s team for their spirited turnaround in the tournament, considering Harmanpreet Kaur and co. had lost three matches in a row at one stage of the opening league round.

Moreover, the Indian women’s team also gifted PM Modi a specially designed Indian jersey, inscribed with the name ‘NAMO’, short for Narendra Modi.
