After six long years, Test cricket is back at the Eden Gardens, and the City of Joy welcomed the stars with open arms. On the opening day of the first Test match between India and South Africa, fans' unreal craze and record attendance said it all.

Among the crowd, the iconic venue welcomed a special guest as Shubman Gill's father was spotted in the stands. In between the match, a fan's hilarious conversation with Gill's father broke the internet.

Gill’s father faces the 'One Question' fans can’t stop asking

Taking the reins from Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill is leading Team India in the second Test series on home soil. As the Men in Blue are taking on South Africa in the first Test at the iconic Eden Gardens, fans are enjoying some unreal red-ball action live.

On the first day of the Test match, Eden Gardens recorded major attendance as fans were enjoying the Men in Blue's domination on the field. Among the sea of fans, cameras spotted Shubman Gill's father cheering proudly from the stands. But his brief exchange with an Indian fan stole the spotlight and quickly went viral.

In the viral video, a fan was seen greeting Lakwinder Singh, Gill's father. After that, he said, "Uncle ji, Gill bhai ki shadi kab karwa rahe ho?" His father replied, "Usko pata hai mujhe kya pata hai?"

After that, the fans asked that 'One' question. He asked, "Sara madam se karwa rahe ho ya nahi?" The moment he uploaded the clip online, the playful exchange between Gill's father and the fan exploded across social media.

Team India seizes control over the Proteas early on

Returning to the longest format after a thrilling white-ball tour, Team India showcased excellence on the opening day of the ongoing Eden Test. After South Africa chose to bat first, the decision backfired on them as the Indian bowlers tightened their grips early on.

With a brilliant fifer from Bumrah and remarkable bowling from Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammad Siraj, India restricted the Proteas to 159 runs. While batting on day one, Team India lost an early wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal in 12 runs. With KL Rahul and Washington Sundar on strike, the Men in Blue are looking forward to putting on a mighty total.
