Shoaib Malik, the former Pakistan cricket captain, surprised the world with the revelation of his marriage to Pakistani actress Sana Javed on January 20. The 41-year-old, previously under speculation regarding a potential divorce from Indian tennis player Sania Mirza, announced the news on Instagram.

Amidst rumors of Shoaib Malik's third marriage, uncertainties linger regarding his official separation from Sania Mirza, who posted a cryptic message on Instagram, stating, "Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard." While Malik begins a new chapter, the status of his relationship with Sania Mirza remains unclear.

Reports indicate discontent within Shoaib Malik's family regarding his decision to remarry, with none of them reportedly attending the wedding. Malik's sisters expressed concerns over his rumored divorce from Sania Mirza, alluding to alleged extramarital affairs.

Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza's union in a traditional Hyderabadi Muslim wedding in 2010 faced controversy when another woman claimed to be Malik's first wife. Despite a strained relationship, the couple celebrated their son Izhaan's birthday in Dubai in October 2023.

As Shoaib Malik embarks on a new journey with Sana Javed, a resurfaced social media post from 2023, where he wished her happiness on her birthday, symbolizes a fresh start for the former Pakistan captain. 

Meanwhile, Sania Mirza's parents clarified that their daughter initiated the separation using a 'khula,' exercising her right to unilaterally divorce her husband.
