The wedding of Indian cricketer Rinku Singh and Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj, originally scheduled for November 18, 2025, has been postponed due to Rinku’s packed international cricketing commitments. As per the reports by Amar Ujala, family sources have confirmed that the high-profile ceremony will now be held in February 2026, with the final date to be announced in the coming months
The couple, who got engaged on June 8 in a grand celebration at a Lucknow hotel, had initially planned to tie the knot at the Taj Hotel in Varanasi. The engagement ceremony was attended by SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav, Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan, and BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla.
Rinku Singh’s Wedding With MP Priya Saroj Delayed
According to the same report, sources close to the families stated that while the preparations were underway for a November wedding, it soon became clear that Rinku Singh’s cricket schedule would not allow him the time for personal commitments. As per the BCCI’s calendar, India is set to tour Australia for a three-match ODI and five-match T20I series from October 19 to November 8.
This will be followed almost immediately by home series against South Africa, including two Test matches from November 14–18 and November 22–26, and three ODIs starting November 30.
This tight schedule has effectively ruled out the originally planned wedding window, prompting both families to shift the date to early 2026.
How Did Rinku Singh Meet Priya Saroj?
The couple’s relationship has been well-supported by both families. Priya Saroj, a first-time MP from Machhlishahr, is a young politician with a legal background. She has also earned her law degree from Amity University, Noida.
Rinku and Priya reportedly met through a mutual acquaintance connected to the cricket world. Over time, their bond blossomed into friendship and eventually a relationship, which was formally recognised with their engagement earlier this month.
