Team India and RCB legends Virat Kohli and Smriti Mandhana are ranked among 50 of the most marketable sportspersons, according to a star-studded list released by SportsPro 50 MM. Notably, Kohli and Mandhana are the only cricketing personalities to feature in the list.
Kohli is ranked at number 27 to find himself ahead of the likes of Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal, Norwegian footballer Erling Haaland as well as American basketball star Kevin Durant. Mandhana, on the other hand, is ranked 42 among the 50 most marketable athletes.
RCB legends only cricketers among most marketable athletes
Indian cricketers Virat Kohli and Smriti Mandhana find themselves alongside the likes of Lebron James, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Erling Haaland and a slew of others among 50 of the most marketable sportspersons, at least according to a star-studded list released by SportsPro 50 MM.
Interestingly, both Kohli and Mandhana are the only cricketers to feature in the line-up, considering the list is mostly dominated by Olympians, football stars, tennis icons or Formula One racers.
Apart from sharing the passion for the same sport, Virat Kohli and Smriti Mandhana also represent the men’s and women’s franchises of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL and WPL respectively. While Kohli has remained an RCB zealot since the inception of the IPL, Mandhana led the franchise to its first-ever silverware earlier this year by winning the 2024 WPL season.
Virat Kohli is currently prepping himself to face New Zealand in the second Test of India’s three-match series at home. The much-awaited contest will be hosted by the MCA Stadium in Pune between October 24 and October 28.
Smriti Mandhana is also expected to go up against her New Zealand counterparts on the same day, albeit for an ODI match at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
