A superfan of Virat Kohli recently expressed his desire to meet his idol. The fan, named Vinay Kumar, revealed that he travelled from Lucknow to Bengaluru on a bicycle and even reached the Indian team hotel in the city in a bid to meet the former India captain.

Kumar further revealed that his next expedition will be to travel to Pune, as the city’s MCA Stadium will be hosting India’s second Test match against New Zealand later this week.

Virat Kohli’s superfan narrates inspiring journey

Vinay Kumar, a self-proclaimed superfan of Virat Kohli, revealed that he travelled from Lucknow to Bengaluru via a bicycle just to meet the legendary Indian batter. In an exclusive interview with SportsInfo, Kumar stated that he has been trying to meet Kohli for a long time, but is yet to interact with his idol.

Kohli’s ardent fan further revealed that he once travelled from Bengaluru to the cricketer’s Mumbai residence by foot in his unsuccessful attempt to meet the former Indian captain.

In the same video, Vinay Kumar said that he will now travel to Pune in the same manner, as the Indian cricket team is scheduled to host New Zealand at the city’s Maharashtra Cricket Stadium between October 24 and October 28.

Virat Kohli recently registered scores of 0 and 70 across two innings of the series-opening first Test match against New Zealand at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant also smacked swift half-centuries in the second Indian innings of the match, while Sarfaraz Khan top-scored with a career-best 150.

Despite Team India’s 462-run defiance on Days 3 and 4, their abysmal first innings effort of 46 all out proved too costly as they conceded their first defeat to New Zealand at home in 36 years.

With a series on the line, Rohit Sharma and co. will now face the visitors in Pune from October 24 onwards.
