14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Samastipur, Bihar, is winning hearts all over the country with his amazing cricket skills and now even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised him.

PM Modi called Vaibhav the “son of Bihar” and appreciated the hard work he has put into his game. Vaibhav recently stunned everyone by scoring a century in just 35 balls while playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025 against Gujarat Titans.

His brilliant knock, 101 runs off 38 balls with 7 fours and 11 sixes helped his team successfully chase 210 runs. This made him the youngest player ever to score a T20 century and the fastest Indian to do so in Indian Premier League (IPL) history.

During the opening ceremony of the Khelo India Youth Games in Bihar, PM Modi mentioned Vaibhav’s performance and said, 

"I have seen in the IPL, the son of Bihar, Vaibhav Suryavanshi's spectacular performance. At such a young age, Vaibhav has set such a great record. There is a lot of hard work behind Vaibhav's performance."

PM Modi also encouraged young players, saying, 

"To bring his talent to the forefront, he has played many matches at different levels. The more you play, the more you will shine. Competing in matches and competitions as much as possible is very important. The NDA government has always given it the highest priority in its policies.

"The government's focus is on giving our athletes the opportunity to play new sports. That is why the Khelo India Youth Games included Gatka, Kho-kho, Malkhambh and Yogasana. In recent days, our athletes have performed very well in many new sports like Wushu, Lawn Balls, and Roller Skating."

Vaibhav Suryavanshi's Performance In IPL 2025

So far in ongoing IPL 2025, the 14-year-old young star has played 5 matches and scored 155 runs with a strong average of 31 and a striking strike rate of over 209. He will be seen in action in the upcoming RR's match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on May 12.
