Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have steered Indian cricket together for nearly a generation of sporting fanatics in the country. Needless to say, the two cricketers share a unique bond as Indian teammates, one that bounds them through shared successes, challenges, and an unwavering commitment to the team’s cause.

Encapsulating their friendship, Rohit Sharma congratulated Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma in his trademark humorous style when the duo married each other back in December 2017.

On December 12, 2017; i.e., a day after Virat Kohli’s wedding with Anushka Sharma, Rohit Sharma congratulated the duo and jokingly advised the Bollywood actress to retain her surname after the marriage.

Considering both Rohit and Anushka share the same last name, Virat Kohli also responded back by urging his Indian teammate to share his ‘double hundred handbook’.


It is worth noting Virat Kohli’s handbook remark towards Rohit Sharma was directed over the latter’s ability of scoring big double centuries in ODI cricket.

Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were pillars of India’s victorious 2024 T20 World Cup campaign in the West Indies and the USA. While Sharma played match-defining knocks against England and Australia, Kohli delivered a ‘Player of the Match’ winning performance in the final. The two legendary batters also played crucial roles in India’s 2013 Champions Trophy winning crusade under the leadership of MS Dhoni.

Kohli and Sharma are currently in Australia for the ongoing five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series against the hosts. Team India won the opening Test by 295 runs but conceded their early advantage with a 10-wicket drubbing in Adelaide.
