Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are the epitome of love and friendship. Their camaraderie and partnership make them one of the most admired couples of this generation. Whether Virat Kohli has won the World Cup or bowled an over after almost a decade, his eyes have always searched for his wife, Anushka, who, in return, never misses an opportunity to showcase her appreciation and regard for her husband. 

While their love story seems magical and full of golden moments, much like every ordinary relationship, it was also marred by a significant low back in 2016. Earlier in the day, Virat Kohli and his now-wife, Anushka Sharma, a popular B'Town actress, had broken up, leaving all their fans disheartened. 

Kohli Wanted Anushka To Quit Acting

While there was never an official confirmation, and both stars remained tight-lipped, numerous rumours suggested that the cricketing sensation was keen on Anushka Sharma quitting Bollywood. Since Anushka was not comfortable with these restrictions, she decided to end the relationship.

However, as they say, "subah ka bhula sham ko ghar aaye", meaning a person who has strayed or made a mistake can eventually find their way back or correct their path; Virat Kohli, too, found his way back to Anushka and the two left their differences behind.

An old piece from Bollywood life revealed that a source close to the couple said that: “Anushka and Virat separated because he did not want his actress girlfriend to continue working in the film industry. Anushka was working on Sultan and has an interesting line up of movies in the coming days. 

She is in the prime of her career and quitting Bollywood and getting married was not something she wanted as an individual. The fight was over this clause, but all that has been sorted now. Virat realized that he truly wants Anushka by him and he dearly loves her. Anushka too has let the differences go and feel equally strongly about Virat."

Virat And Anushka Celebrate 7 Years Of Marriage

Nevertheless, things could not look better as the duo now completes seven years of marriage together. The couple welcomed their first baby, a daughter named Vamika, back in 2021. Very recently, in February 2024, Kohli and his wife Anushka announced the arrival of a second baby, Akaay, a boy. 

The power couple has repeatedly urged the media not to click pictures of their children to maintain a private life away from the hustle and bustle of the film and fame world. Moreover, recently, it has been understood that the Kohli family, comprising Virat, Anushka and their two children, have shifted to London, where they continue to grow and foster as a family.
