On Monday, November 11, England beat West Indies by seven wickets to lead the ongoing five-match T20I series 2-0. Phil Salt, who was a hero in the first match, failed to replicate his performance and registered a duck.

Talking about Salt, he smashed a century in the opening match and amassed 103 (54). Salt loves playing against the Caribbean side as it was his 3rd T20I in five matches against them.

Interestingly, Salt has been making headlines as he declined a party invite from renowned singer Rihanna, to focus on the game. According to a report from Cricinfo, Rihanna, who was born in Barbados, was hosting a party but Salt wanted to call it a night early and wanted him to be in the best shape for the 1st T20I. "Rihanna's parties can wait," Salt joked after the game.

Salt And His Relation With Barbados

It is worth noting that Salt, who was born in Wales, had moved to Barbados at the age of 10 and stayed there for nearly 5-6 years. He has some special memories in Barbados as he played cricket together with Jofra Archer and also remembers England lifting the 2010 T20 World Cup at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

"I don't get very emotional on the cricket field," he said afterwards. "But that's as close as I've come I think for so many reasons. That's number one for me."

Salt added, "It's something you can't really put into words without wanting to sound too cheesy. That's what you dream of as a kid. That is the cricket equivalent of the 30-yard screamer at Maine Road in the 89th minute."

England are just a win away from clinching a series and will square off against the Windies on November 15 at the Daren Sammy Stadium in St Lucia.
