Indian women’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana got engaged with music composer Palash Muchhal earlier this week. The cricketer even flaunted her engagement ring through a social media post on November 20.

A day later, Palash Muchhal shared a footage of his creative-yet-romantic proposal for Mandhana. In a minute-long video, the Indian music composer can be seen taking a blindfolded Smriti Mandhana at the center of the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, the same venue where she recently lifted the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup along with her teammates.

World Cup to Engagement: DY Patil Stadium delivers again for Mandhana

The DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai seems to be emerging as a new happy-hunting ground for Smriti Mandhana, as the Indian women’s vice-captain recently got engaged at the venue to Indian music composer and boyfriend of over five years, Palash Muchhal.

Palash shared a video of his proposal at the DY Patil Stadium, where he can be seen getting down on his knees at the center of the venue in front of Mandhana. The cricketer, visibly surprised over the romantic setting, instantly said yes and hugged her boyfriend.

At the same venue earlier this month, Smriti Mandhana lifted the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup along with captain Harmanpreet Kaur and the rest of their teammates. The outcome marked a significant occasion in India’s women’s cricket history, considering it was their first ICC silverware of any kind at the senior level.

Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal to tie the knot

Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal will now move toward marriage, but the wedding date is yet to be announced. The two have been dating each other since 2019, i.e., for more than five years.

However, they made their relationship public only in mid-2024 last year.
