Yuzvendra Chahal and Shreyas Iyer became the centre of attention on social media after Chahal shared a cheerful Instagram post featuring the two. The picture, which quickly went viral, showed the pair smiling brightly as they reunited.

In the caption, Chahal wrote, "Sarpanch Sahib Kara Doh Party," playfully referring to Shreyas Iyer by the nickname 'Sarpanch.' Punjab Kings (PBKS) fans often use the term affectionately for Iyer. Chahal’s recent post only added to the fun, leading to a flood of reactions from fans and supporters.

Shreyas Iyer back in India after injury recovery

It is important to note that Shreyas Iyer has recently returned to India after recovering from a spleen injury sustained earlier this month in Sydney. He was rushed to the hospital and spent several weeks under medical care in Australia before being cleared to travel back home.

While Iyer has recovered enough to return, he is still not match-fit, which means he is likely to miss the upcoming India vs South Africa ODI series. His absence is a setback for India, especially given that captain Shubman Gill is also dealing with injury concerns.

It is vital to note that Iyer has been a crucial player for the 'Men in Blue' in ODI. The star player has played 73 ODI matches and made 2917 runs at an average of 47.81 and the strike-rate of 99.01.

Punjab Kings stars preparing for IPL 2026

Ahead of IPL 2026, PBKS have retained Shreyas Iyer and Chahal. The Punjab captain had an exceptional season last year, leading PBKS to the IPL final, where they narrowly lost to RCB. He was also top-scorer of the team. He made 604 runs at a strike rate of 175.07 in 17 matches.

Yuzvendra Chahal, on the other hand, had a challenging season after being signed for a massive ₹18 crore. Although he picked up 16 wickets in 14 games, his economy rate of 9.55 was the matter of concern.
