Shubman Gill, one of India’s most talented and handsome cricketers, has impressed fans not just with his skills on the field but also with his charm off it. The Punjab-born batter has had a fantastic journey, becoming the captain of the Indian Test team and the vice-captain of the T20I side. Over the years, he has shown remarkable consistency and determination.

While fans often focus on his cricketing achievements, Shubman’s love for food has also come into the spotlight.

Keart Gill shares the food Shubman Gill truly loves

In a special video shared by the KKR team in 2018, his mother, Keart Gill, revealed the star’s favorite food. She explained that Shubman is a big fan of traditional Indian meals, especially homemade parathas and rotis. Unlike many who enjoy global cuisines, Shubman prefers the comforting flavors of home-cooked food.

Keart Gill shared a memorable story from Shubman’s England tour. She said,

“When he came back from England, he didn’t enjoy the food there at all. Everything was either non-vegetarian or bland, and he missed home-cooked meals terribly. As soon as he returned, he ate so many rotis and parathas that it seemed like he was eating up for the whole year.”

Shubman’s mother often cooks a variety of dishes for him, but parathas and rotis remain his top choice. While butter chicken and other popular Indian dishes are loved by many, nothing beats the taste of his mother’s cooking for Shubman.

Currently, Shubman is part of India’s Asia Cup 2025 squad and has been in great form. He has scored 111 runs in five innings with a striking rate of 156.34 so far. Notably, India have reached the final after defeating Bangladesh in the Super Fours. The Men in Blue will be seen in action on Sunday, September 28.
