Mumbai Indians have begun their preparations for IPL 2025 season by roping in Bollywood icon Jackie Shroff as ‘spirit coach.’ This unique initiative is to uplift the spirits of the team as the new season gets underway.
The IPL 2025 season is set to begin from March 22 with 10 teams preparing themselves for the mega adventure. Five-time winners Mumbai Indians will again be led by Hardik Pandya.
After finishing at the bottom of the table in 2024, MI will look to reclaim their lost supremacy in the IPL.
MI Rope In Jackie Shroff For IPL 2025
In a surprise move, MI announced Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff as their new spirit coach just 10 days before IPL 2025 kicks off. With his Mumbai-tough image and dramatic lines, Jackie's inclusion is likely to bring a fresh flavor to the team.
Social media clip by MI sees Shroff inspiring his players in the very "Bhidu" fashion, reinforcing the point that the raw and daring attitude of Mumbai will dominate this season's campaign.
Jackie, a Mumbai local, is also an environmentalist, and his video subtly highlights his passion, as he is seen holding a small plant while delivering his speech.
MI has also launched its own version of ‘Fab 5’, a term usually associated with cricket legends. The franchise has named five of its most senior and influential players as part of this elite group: Hardik Pandya (Bhai), Suryakumar Yadav (Dada), Jasprit Bumrah (Boss), Tilak Varma (Bunty), and Rohit Sharma (Bhidu).

Just when the chaos reaches its peak, Jackie Shroff pops up in a surprise entry, with one of his trademark "Bhidu" one-liners.
