The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is just around the corner, with the 18th edition set to begin on March 22. The opening match will see Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens. With such a massive fan following, the demand for tickets is skyrocketing, especially for blockbuster matches.
CSK vs MI Tickets Appear In Black Market
One of the most highly anticipated matches; Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Mumbai Indians (MI) is already making waves for the wrong reasons. The match is scheduled for March 23 at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, but tickets have already surfaced on resale websites at shockingly high prices.
Interestingly, CSK has not yet officially released tickets for their home games, yet resale platforms have started listing them at inflated rates.
Tickets Selling for Over ₹85,000!
According to Viagogo, a ticket resale website, the highest-priced ticket for the CSK vs MI match is listed at ₹85,380 for a seat in the KMK Lower stand. The platform has 84 tickets available, with prices starting from ₹12,512. Currently, tickets for six of CSK’s home games are up for resale, but tickets for CSK vs RCB on March 28 are not yet listed.
A report by The New Indian Express states that lower stand tickets are being sold at ten times their original price, highlighting the massive demand for this iconic clash.
The IPL 2025 schedule has been officially announced, confirming 74 matches over 65 days. The tournament will feature 12 double-headers and games across 13 venues in India. The final is set for May 25, 2025.
