Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni is set to charm audiences off the cricket field, stepping into a romantic role for filmmaker Karan Johar’s upcoming venture. A teaser shared by Johar on social media features Dhoni in a never-seen-before avatar.

While MS Dhoni has been spotted in several other ads as well delivering sixes off-field with his punchy dialogues, the new avatar launched by Karan Johar is something that fans do not associate him with usually.

MS Dhoni To Feature In Karan Johar's Directorial

The social media video shared by Karan Johar on his Instagram handle saw the video opening in a romantic backdrop and the cricketer delivering a soft-spoken dialogue: “Tum jo saath chalti ho, har safar khubsurat banati ho.” 

The caption to the video said, "Dramatic drumroll, please! 🎬✨Presenting MS Dhoni—our newest lover boy! But wait, Mahi’s love for his bike isn’t new. And now, thanks to Gulf Pride & Punit’s fabulous storytelling, the world finally gets a front-row seat to this blockbuster love affair! Pure cinematic magic!"

The caption suggests that it will probably be a motorcycle ad. Hence, while fans might expect him to romance on screen, it will probably be with a motorbike.

This follows Dhoni’s recent bold transformation in an EMotorad electric cycle ad, where he sported long hair reminiscent of Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal look and declared, “Sunaiye de raha hai mujhe, behra nahi hu main.”

Meanwhile, the cricketer etched his name in IPL history by becoming the first player to reach 200 dismissals, surpassing Dinesh Karthik’s 182, during CSK’s clash against Lucknow Super Giants.

Amid the cinematic buzz, Dhoni’s landmark 200 dismissals, achieved by stumping Lucknow’s Ayush Badoni, cemented his legacy as IPL’s most prolific wicketkeeper. The feat highlighted his enduring relevance in cricket, even as he experiments with off-field roles.
