The stage is set as Punjab Kings (PBKS) lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 31st group-stage match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The high-octane clash is taking place at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in Mullanpur on April 15.

In a significant development, PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer elected to bat first, hoping to capitalise on favourable pitch conditions under lights. PBKS have enjoyed a fairly strong campaign so far, securing three victories from five matches.

Meanwhile, KKR are positioned fifth on the points table with six points, making this game pivotal for both franchises.

Why KKR Have Removed Moeen Ali From Playing XI Vs PBKS

At the toss, KKR’s captain Ajinkya Rahane confirmed a solitary change in the team’s playing XI. South African pacer Anrich Nortje has been brought in place for Moeen Ali. It could be a 'tactical' move; possibly aimed at bolstering the pace attack on a surface.

It is important to mention that Moeen Ali has played three matches so far and scalped three wickets with an economy rate of 5.37. With the bat, the English all-rounder has made 5 runs with a strike rate of 41.66.

On the other side, PBKS has also made one forced change with Lockie Ferguson being injured. Xavier Bartlett has been included in his place.
