Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, was recently seen attending Pakistan leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed’s wedding reception in Karachi. The event came just week after a major controversy surrounding the Asia Cup 2025 trophy.

Abrar, who tied the knot with Amna Rahim, hosted several stars at his Walima ceremony, including Shaheen Afridi and Faheem Ashraf.

In a video shared by Pakistan media, Naqvi was seen entering the venue while reporters questioned him about the ongoing Asia Cup trophy drama. The PCB chief, however, avoided responding and instead greeted Abrar Ahmed and former Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi warmly.

The controversy began after the Asia Cup 2025 final, where India defeated Pakistan by five wickets to lift the trophy. However, Indian players reportedly refused to accept the trophy from him as Naqvi also holds a government position in Pakistan.

Following this, Naqvi allegedly instructed ACC officials to remove the trophy and medals from the stadium, which sparked criticism and confusion. Later reports suggested that the trophy was handed over to the UAE Cricket Board, but the exact details remain unclear, even after an ACC meeting was held to resolve the issue.

Meanwhile, Abrar Ahmed’s wedding celebrations became a talking point on social media. A video showed the 27-year-old cricketer joyfully dancing with friends and family outside a Karachi marriage hall. His wedding festivities started a night earlier with a colorful mehndi ceremony, where he was seen wearing a green shalwar kameez.

On the cricketing front, Abrar Ahmed made his international debut in 2022 and has represented Pakistan in 10 Tests, 11 ODIs, and 23 T20Is, taking 93 wickets across formats. He was also part of the Pakistan squad that played in the Asia Cup 2025 final against India.
