Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj took a brief break from the intense IPL 2025 schedule to celebrate Eid with his family. Gujarat Titans' fast bowler shared emotional moments on his official social media handle, sharing photographs with his mother and brother as he celebrated the special day.
Siraj, who played for Gujarat Titans in their recent match against Mumbai Indians, has had a mixed beginning to the new season.
In his first game for GT against Punjab Kings, he had a poor outing, giving away 54 runs without a wicket. He came back strongly in the next game against Mumbai Indians, taking 2 wickets for 34 runs.
Siraj Celebrates Eid With Family
Amid the gruelling schedule of the IPL 2025 season, Mohammed Siraj went back home to celebrate the festival of Eid with his family. He shared a picture of his mother and brother on social media and the pacer also wished the fans a happy Eid.
The Hyderabad-born pacer was one of the most expensive buys at the IPL 2025 mega auction, with Gujarat Titans securing his services for a hefty sum of INR 12.25 crore. This made him the franchise’s second-costliest acquisition after Jos Buttler, who was bought for INR 15.75 crore.
Prior to signing with GT, Siraj was a regular player for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for seven years. Siraj will now be up against his old team when Gujarat Titans play RCB on April 2 in Bengaluru.
Siraj Gets His Revenge On Rohit Sharma
Gujarat Titans fast bowler Mohammed Siraj made a big statement in the IPL 2025 game against Mumbai Indians by claiming the prized scalp of Rohit Sharma in dominating style. When MI started their run chase, Rohit Sharma was in good form, lashing out at Siraj with two boundaries in the early part of his spell.
However, the GT pacer had the perfect response. Bowling a well-directed delivery at good length around the off-stump, Siraj got the ball to move in sharply after pitching.
Rohit, attempting a defensive shot, misjudged the movement and was completely beaten as the ball crashed into the stumps, dislodging the bails and pulling off a ‘Calma’ celebration.
Siraj, who was left out of the Indian squad that won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, seemed to have a point to prove.
