MI vs KKR Live Updates: Match Summary 💁🏻♂️
Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bowl first against Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede, where they rocked the Knight Riders early with quick wickets. Deepak and Trent Boult took early wickets, as Sunil Narine and Quinton de Kock departed very early. Skipper Ajinkya Rahane was the next one to be dismissed for 11, as Kolkata was reduced to 3 for 25 inside four overs.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi displayed some resilience with a 16-ball 26, but Mumbai Indians were way too good with their bowling approach. Debutant Ashwani Kumar was too hot to handle for the Knight Riders as he bowled an unbelievable spell of four for 24 in just three overs, helping Mumbai knock over Knight Riders for just 116 in 16.2 overs.
Ramandeep Singh provided some blitz in the final overs with a 12-ball 22, while Manish Pandey (19) and Rinku Singh (17) were the other contributors in double digits, alongside Raghuvanshi and Rahane. All the MI bowlers picked up wickets as a collective bowling effort proved fatal for the Knights.
In reply, it was way too easy for the Mumbai Indians, as Rohit Sharma played a 13-run knock and departed after smashing a six, while Will Jacks couldn't hold his wicket. Apart from them, it was Ryan Rickelton's show, with a 41-ball 62*, including five sixes and four boundaries in his knock, alongside Suryakumar Yadav's 9-ball 27. They helped Mumbai finish the chase in just 12.5 overs for the loss of two wickets, as they won the game comfortably by eight wickets and with 7.1 overs to spare.
