Marriage On Cards For Shami? Indian Speedster Receives Proposal From Bengali Actress
Mohammed Shami has claimed 16 wickets in CWC 2023 [X.com]
One of the main reasons behind India's dominance in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is the form of speedster Mohammed Shami.
Despite missing the early part of the World Cup 2023, Shami in four games has claimed 16 wickets, with as many as two five-wicket hauls, to become India's leading wicket-taker this edition.
The pacer has received praise from all quarters for his impeccable bowling, which has found an admirer in actress-turned-politician Payal Ghosh.
Following, Shami's five-fer against Sri Lanka, where they bundled out for merely 55, chasing India's 357, Ghosh, 31, took to social media platform 'X' and went on to propose to the bowler for marriage cheekily.

Ghosh born in Kolkata in 1992, has worked in movies like Patel ki Punjabi Shaadi, Mr. Rascal, Oosaravelli, Varshadhaare, and Prayanam before joining politics. She is currently the head of the women's wing of the Republican Party of India (A).
Shami's first marriage did not end well with Hasin Jahan, who alleged several charges against the Indian bowler, which include infidelity, match-fixing and domestic violence, that remain unproven. The divorced couple also have a daughter.
Meanwhile, Shami will be in action on Sunday, when Rohit Sharma and Co. take on the Netherlands in their final World Cup 2023 group match at Bangalore. Team India have already qualified for the semi-finals.
