One of England's most potent bowling all-rounder Chris Woakes created history on Wednesday during his outing against Afghanistan in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.

Woakes, with the wicket of Max O'Dowd, came on level terms with the legendary Sir Ian Botham. Both Woakes and Botham have managed to pick 30 wickets for England across ODI World Cups.

While Botham achieved this feat in 22 matches between 1979 and 1992, Woakes has reached his landmark in 23 games between 2015 and 2023 and has one match remaining to edge past Botham.

Behind Woakes, and Botham comes, Phil DeFreitas (29), James Anderson (27), and Mark Wood (24). Adil Rashid also has 24 wickets but has taken more matches than Wood.
