Yet another controversy has broken out on social media, with a defamation lawsuit for an amount of ₹100 crores being filed against actress Khushi Mukherjee for her statement about Indian T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav.

What seemed like an irresponsible statement at a public gathering has spiralled into a serious legal and public debate, pulling in personalities such as influencers and police complaints.

Khushi Mukherjee dragged to court for defaming Suryakumar Yadav

Mumbai-based social media influencer Faizan Ansari has filed a ₹100 crore defamation case against Khushi Mukherjee, accusing her of making false and damaging statements about Suryakumar Yadav.

Ansari has also lodged a complaint at the Ghazipur police station, demanding that an FIR be registered against the actress.

According to Ansari, Mukherjee’s claim that Suryakumar “used to message me a lot” was deliberately made to gain publicity and could harm the reputation of a national-level cricketer.

He has called for strict legal action and even demanded a jail term, stating that he would continue to pursue the case until justice is served.

Speaking to reporters, Ansari said that he is not afraid of pressure and will take the issue to every possible platform. He added that if Mukherjee can prove her claims, he is ready to accept his mistake publicly.

Until then, he insists that the comments amount to character damage and must be treated seriously.

What did Khushi Mukherjee say in her clarification?

The controversy began after Khushi Mukherjee made a remark at an event where she was asked about dating cricketers.

She responded by saying that many cricketers were after her and mentioned that Suryakumar Yadav used to message her a lot while adding that she did not want her name linked with him.

This comment quickly spread online, causing a backlash from the fans and raising questions about the intent behind it. After the criticism started escalating, a clarification came from Mukherjee herself that her quote was taken out of context.

She stated that she never had a romantic relationship with Suryakumar and that their conversations, if any, were purely friendly and happened in the past.

Mukherjee also claimed that her Instagram account had been hacked and that misinformation may have spread from there. She said she is no longer in touch with Suryakumar Yadav and extended her best wishes to him and Team India for the upcoming World Cup.

SKY mum on the whole issue

Despite the noise, Suryakumar Yadav has not issued any statement on the matter so far. Several online users have pointed out that legally, only Suryakumar himself can pursue such a case if he feels defamed.

This has led to speculation perhaps this lawsuit may be a way to seek attention from the controversy.

Without a response from SKY, the debate continues, with many urging restraint and responsibility while speaking about public figures.

As things stand, the situation remains tense, with legal processes underway and social media closely watching every development.
