Virat Kohli punched out his 50th ODI century through the course of his match-winning knock against New Zealand in the 2023 World Cup semifinal. Turning up for India at the Wankhede Stadium, the cricketer surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s all-time tally of 49 ODI tons to scale a new world record in 50-overs-internationals.

Remarkably, after reaching the landmark figure, Kohli bowed to his idol Tendulkar, who had attended the stadium for the high-profile contest.

Through his humble gesture for the former cricketer, the modern-day batting legend drew heaps of appreciation from all corners of the sporting fraternity, with Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut becoming the latest prominent personality in joining the bandwagon.
