Stuart Broad, who has been quite a cause for trouble for the Australian audience, had a surprise welcome gift arranged for him by his former teammate Jos Buttler and podcast channel 'loveofcricketpod.'

The gift in question was a surprising billboard with a witty remark beneath Stuart Broad's image that deliberately taunts the player as well as the Australian fans. Apparently, Broad was quite shocked to see the billboard upon landing in Perth after an 18-hour flight.

Broad left in awe after hilarious billboard prank

As Broad landed at the airport, a Love of Cricket Pod representative revealed to him that he has a surprise planned for him at the airport arranged by Jos Buttler, who appeared in the podcast a couple of weeks earlier.

The cheeky dig left Stuart Broad nervous as the cricketer asked, "Is it a good surprise or a bad surprise?" The representative had a sly laugh, sharing that the surprise was right in front of his eyes.

Broad was taken inside the airport, where a huge billboard featuring Stuart Broad's picture read, "Australia, thought you'd gotten rid of him?" Taken aback by the hilarious remark on the billboard, Broad was in complete awe of the display that led to a hilarious jibe at Broad for his commentary stint with 7Cricket for The Ashes 2025-26.

Broad is infamous in Australia because of the Trent Bridge incident in 2013 and also because of his not-so-friendly relationship with nemesis David Warner, which is also the context behind the remark on the billboard.

Lyon up to hear from old rival Broad

Nathan Lyon, star Australia spinner, shared his thoughts on Broad's commentary stint and shared that he is a 'fan' of his commentary and would love to hear him speak on the insights from the series.

"I am actually a decent fan of his cricket commentary, so hopefully some pretty good insight into the way he is going to look into the series," Lyon said.

The first Ashes Test at Perth Optus Stadium begins on November 21, with the last one of the five-match series being slated for January 4, 2026.
