Rumours have been circulating for a while about Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul expecting their first child, but the celebrity couple has yet to confirm it. Amidst these rumors, Suniel Shetty, father-in-law of Rahul, added fuel to the fire by making a ‘Nana’ remark, which led fans to believe that Athiya is pregnant.

A few days ago, during an episode of Dance Deewane, a reality TV show where Suniel Shetty serves as a judge, host Bharti Singh humorously asked him what kind of 'Nana' he would be, given that no child could resist such good grandparents. 

Suniel's response, "Yes, next season, when I come, I will walk on the stage like Nana," caught everyone's attention as it hinted at Athiya Shetty's pregnancy.

This statement garnered significant attention, leading fans to speculate that KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty may be expecting their first child.

However, a source close to the couple rubbished it all. Speaking to the Hindustan Times, the source called it a sheer misinterpretation, saying:

"There is no truth in the buzz. Suniel (Shetty)'s nana remark was said in a jest and in a very informal way. His remarks have been misinterpreted by all. It was a fun conversation, Suniel said it as a joke. Now, even he is surprised how his comment has been perceived by everyone."

"In fact, he didn’t want this buzz at all. It was unintentional. Several people haven’t seen the whole clip and are just assuming based on the reactions by social media users. He is shocked by all this"

Rahul and Athiya greatly value their privacy and are inclined to keep any good news they may have under wraps, much like another star couple, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, who didn’t utter a word in the public domain during the birth of their second child.
