Following Mumbai Indians' third successive defeat in the IPL 2024, former Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter Ambati Rayudu was seen engaging in a conversation with MI skipper Hardik Pandya in the team's dugout at the Wankhede Stadium.

Pandya, who returned to the stadium amidst a tough reception, faced a chorus of boos from the home crowd, adding to the pressure he's been under due to criticism from fans.

Despite efforts to win them over, Pandya struggled to gain the support of the fans, especially after Mumbai Indians' disappointing performance so far in IPL 2024. As the match against the Rajasthan Royals finished, Pandya sat alone in the MI dugout, visibly distressed, with none of his teammates around him.

That's when Rayudu approached the Mumbai dressing room after the match to console the MI skipper. Rayudu, an IPL legend who has played for two of the most successful teams like MI and CSK, gave a pep talk in support of Pandya in his time of need. MI later shared a video of the two on their social media account a day after the game.

"Who do we fall? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up. #MumbaiMeriJaan #MumbaiIndians | @hardikpandya7,"  MI wrote on X.

The relentless boos continued throughout the RR match, intensifying Pandya's struggle as Mumbai Indians suffered a dismal batting performance against the Royals, leading to their third consecutive loss in the IPL season.

After being forced to bat first in their first home match of the season at the Wankhede Stadium, the five-time IPL winners suffered a disappointing defeat

The top order suffered a dramatic collapse, with players like Rohit Sharma and Dewald Brevis succumbing cheaply to Trent Boult's bowling. Despite Pandya's fightback with the bat, Mumbai Indians could only muster a paltry total of 125 runs, a target comfortably chased down by the Rajasthan Royals on the back of Riyan Parag’s half-century.
